We continue our deep dive into William Bramley's book, The Gods of Eden, looking at ancient traditions and accounts of the "gods" that have seemingly ruled mankind since furthest antiquity, and may be the cause of the continuous conflict all over the world, for thousands of years.
I noticed a huge misconception on here about Buddhe...the fat smiling man you guys were talking about was not Siddhartha Gautama the Buddha, he was a very skinny Tibetan prince with cornrows, I'm absolutely certain that you've seen statues or paintings of him, but the fat laughing man was a Zen monk named Budai/Hotei/Pu-Tai and has come to be called Laughing Buddha but he was waaaay later than Gautama and is sort of the patron saint of luck & contentment in Zen & Chan Buddhism, not the founding philosopher of Buddhism...Siddhartha was very fit, maybe even far too skinny, as a further abdication of the material world, including the indulgence of fine food.
